British born actress Natasha Richardson, the daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave and
director/producer Tony Richardson and the wife of actor Liam Neeson has sadly died from the head
injuries she sustained after a skiing accident in Canada.

Natasha spent her last few days in a New York hospital, close to the home she shared with Irish
actor Neeson and their two sons Michael 13 and Daniel 12.

The accident happened while the actress was taking a supervised skiing lesson at the Quebec resort.
Richardson initially showed no sign of injury but about an hour later she was taken to a nearby
hospital after feeling unwell. It was later confirmed her injuries were critical.

Her sister is the Nip/Tuck actress Joely Richardson.

She first rose to international stardom with her Tony award-winning performance as Sally Bowles in
the musical play Cabaret on Broadway in New York in 1998 and she starred in over 20 movies including
Maid in Manhattan, The Parent Trap, Nell, Wild Child and Asylum.

Alan Nierob, Neeson's publicist, said: "Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and
devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha. They are profoundly grateful for the
support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time."

Film-maker Ken Russell, who directed Richardson in her debut movie Gothic, said she was "always
poised, prepared, focused and very, very bright".

He said Richardson took the decision early in her career to "stand or fall on her own" and left
London to begin her career in Leeds at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. "The world of acting has been
deprived of a great actress, really in her prime.

On stage and screen she was a joy to watch and our thoughts are with your family at the time.

God Bless Natasha's family

Loved all her work... she was a beautiful person and will be sorely missed.

My prayers to her husband, children, her mom and other family members. We cannot understand the ways things happen to us or the ones we love, I only know that she is in the Lord's arms and happy...

You do not feel this way right now... I have been were you are now and can understand all you feel. Keep courage, stay strong and the only way you can do this is to be with each other and share your memories and love.

Best to all the family
